Do the Bunny Hop...Hop, Hop, Hop!

Our Easter party on Friday was hoppin' with fun! What a crazy, wild, fun day!

Fly, Butterflies, Fly!

On Tuesday, we let our wonderful butterflies take flight and be free. It was a little hard to let them go, and they didn't seem to want to leave us as first. But in the end they seemed to enjoy 'spreading their wings' and discovering the wonderful world. We were so lucky though, to have a little time to really enjoy watching and learning about them. Three of them even hung around for a few minutes and allowed me to place them onto some of the student's hands for a second. It was so amazing!

We pollinated our plants!

Ashley pollinated her brassica rapa blossoms by helping her little pollinator bee go from blossom to blossom to collect and move the pollen around. We learned that each pistil must receive pollen from a different blossom in order to pollinate. Now we just watch to see the blossoms die away and the pistil grow larger!
Each morning we check our plants to see what changes have happened. We also water them and make sure they're getting the necessary light.

PE????? Really? Or a new style of Crayons?

We played Builders and Bulldozers in the Atrium and had a blast. Afterwards we did a couple relay races with the cones, but discovered that we looked like dashing wearing them as hats!

Our rock mason guest speaker!

Gracie's grandfather came to visit us from Main and taught us more about rocks and what a rock mason does. He even let each of us have some pieces of colorful tourmaline from Maine! We love rocks!

April Fools...

April Fool's Day was a crazy day! The class took a 'scary' End-of-level-intellegent-test that ended up just being silly. At the end of the day we a flood drill because of the 'high snow pack level and the recent distruction in Japan'. The school administration just wanted to be prepared for anything. We had to sit on our desks and practice doing the free-style breast stroke. We looked like a bunch of April fools!
